Tsunami Axis was appointed to transform The Fashion Retail Academy (FRA) by consolidating its two London locations into a newly designed, purpose-built campus in Moorgate. The new campus, covering 52,500 square feet, was designed to offer improved spaces for creative and collaborative learning, catering to the diverse needs of over 1,000 students. It includes flexible classrooms, collaborative studios, wellbeing spaces, and modern library facilities.
Leading the project through its final stages with a tight deadline dictated by the academic year’s start, Tsunami Axis worked closely to select finishes, fabrics, and colours to align with the original design, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic. A key aspect of the project was the variety of furniture solutions and integrating products that offer versatility, functionality and to meet various learning and support needs.
Why Workagile?
Our Huddlebox® Edge tiered seating system was installed in the basement library, providing a flexible, engaging seating solution to foster quiet study and research. The integrated power modules optimize user efficiency, making them ideal for collaborative or shared spaces. The Birch finish added an organic touch to the contemporary design, creating warmth in the space, and the upholstered seat pads added a splash of colour to complement the colour scheme. As sustainability is one of our key focuses, we prioritise using FSC-certified materials for our products, selecting durable and recyclable materials to ensure a longer lifespan and reduced environmental impact.
Acoustic office pods are increasingly popular in modern workspaces, providing private, quiet spaces for solitary work, collaboration, and guaranteed speech privacy. Our MiiBox® Phonebooths and 2 Person pods are the perfect solution in providing innovative spaces for diverse needs. Tested to the new ISO: 233351-1:2020 standard, MiiBox® fosters inclusivity for neurodiverse individuals by providing a quiet, sensory-friendly space, enhancing focus, reducing distractions, and supporting personal well-being.
Conclusion:
Modular systems enhance adaptability but also minimise waste by extending the lifespan of existing resources, contributing to a more sustainable solution. We understand the need for sustainable furniture that conserves resources and supports eco-friendly practices. Our Huddlebox® and MiiBox® installation highlights the versatility of our agile furniture systems, our commitment to circular design principles, and to serve a wide range of spaces beyond just office environments.
