SRG: Encouraging Collaborative Workspaces Through Open-Plan Offices & BeCalm Acoustic Pods

Client: Specialist Risk Group (SRG)
Design & Specification: TSK Group

Workagile recently supported TSK Group with a new office renovation for SRG, one of the fastest-growing groups of insurance intermediaries in the UK. As a result of rapid expansion, SRG had been operating across multiple smaller offices in London, prompting the need to bring all employees together under one roof.

The project saw SRG relocate to the 7th floor of the St Botolph Building in London, occupying 40,000 sq. ft. of space designed to accommodate up to 400 employees on a single open-plan floor. The move aimed to restore a strong sense of community within the business and create a workplace that reflects SRG’s values of teamwork, collaboration, and enjoyment.

The Design:

In designing this workplace, TSK Group aimed to connect people, purpose, and performance within one cohesive environment, delivered with care and precision. Through the completion of this project, 400 individuals were brought together in a unified workplace, enabling higher levels of collaboration, productivity, and growth.

TSK Group approached Workagile to support the project with acoustic solutions and the creation of private work areas. While the office features a large open-plan layout, it was essential to incorporate spaces where individuals could focus, hold small team meetings, or take private phone calls without disruption.

Our BeCalm Acoustic Pods were the ideal solution. Independently Class A & B acoustically tested, these booths provide exceptional noise reduction, making them perfectly suited to a busy office environment such as SRG’s.

The selection of the BeCalm Acoustic Pods was driven not only by functionality, but also by design. The white exterior finishes reflect SRG’s calm and bright aesthetic, allowing the pods to blend seamlessly with the surrounding furniture. This subtle palette complements the biophilic elements throughout the office, ensuring the space remains calm, cohesive, and visually balanced.

SRG also opted for privacy film on the glass doors, providing visual concealment. Combined with guaranteed speech privacy and acoustic performance, these spaces are ideally suited for focused work and confidential conversations.

The Results:

SRG’s new workplace has been designed to encourage presence, connection, and collaboration, reinforcing a strong sense of identity and belonging.

TSK Group has purposefully positioned social and collaborative spaces – such as coffee points and informal lounges – along key circulation routes. This thoughtful planning encourages spontaneous interactions, impromptu meetings, and casual conversations, helping to strengthen relationships across teams.

Our BeCalm acoustic booths provide dedicated spaces for focused tasks and private calls, giving individuals greater control over where and how they work. This flexibility supports TSK Group’s commitment to inclusivity, ensuring the workplace accommodates a wide range of working styles and meets the needs of neurodiverse individuals through considered spatial planning and furniture selection.
