Cambridge Enterprise: Creating a Dynamic Workspace with MiiBox Acoustic Pods

Client: Cambridge Enterprise
Design & Specification: Ralph & Smith

Project Overview

Workagile were proud to collaborate with Ralph & Smith on the refurbishment of the Hauser Forum building at the University of Cambridge. As the University’s Innovation Hub, Cambridge Enterprise supported the wider project with expertise focused on research and innovation.

Drawing inspiration from the success of the IdeaSpace initiative earlier this year, the refurbishment sought to create a more dynamic environment that encouraged movement and collaboration. Workagile supported this vision through the supply and installation of our MiiBox acoustic pods, helping to enhance flexible working and focused spaces within the building.

Design & Collaboration

Tasked with supporting the interior design vision, Workagile supplied carefully selected furniture to complement the dynamic, collaborative workspace envisioned by Ralph & Smith.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with Ralph & Smith to seamlessly integrate new Workagile pieces with the existing legacy furniture, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic that aligned with the IdeaSpace-inspired design concept.

The Solution: MiiBox Acoustic Pods

Using a curated selection from our MiiBox range; including the Phonebooth, WorkPod, and 2-Person Pods – we contributed to creating a more dynamic and versatile workspace. These Acoustic Pods provide focused areas that support both collaboration and concentrated work, enhancing productivity and fostering stronger team connections.

Designed with a clean, modern finish, the pods were customised to integrate seamlessly within the University’s interiors. Featuring black frames paired with bold red seating, they deliver a striking visual impact while balancing form and function.

Outcome

Workagile’s contribution helped support new multifunctional areas, including Focus Project and Meeting Rooms, informal Collaboration spaces, a Business Lounge adjacent to the events area, and a contemporary Tea Point designed to encourage interaction and movement throughout the building. The overall impact of the refurbishment has been widely felt-improving productivity, elevating team morale, and impressing visitors with its welcoming and modern atmosphere, as noted by Sam Pringle, Chief Financial Officer at Cambridge Enterprise. Earning positive feedback from all who experience the space, this project has proven a successful endeavour – one that Workagile is proud to have been chosen to support Ralph & Smith on.
