Softwire, one of the UK’s leading technology development consultancies offering bespoke software solutions and ongoing support, were looking for a new office location to house their growing team. AW Spaces led the refurbishment of the new 20,000 sq. ft office located in Highgate Studios, London. With hybrid working as a strong focus, it was important to balance this with encouraging creativity and deep focus within a professional and warm environment. Workagile supported this project with the supply of our BeCalm Acoustic Pods to ensure spaces of quiet and focus were available to the staff in order to support their work.
The Design:
The refurbishment was not without its challenges, the location had to support a variety of needs, including: collaboration, quiet focus, client meetings and informal connections; our BeCalm Acoustic Pods were the perfect solution to these arising difficulties. The Acoustic Pods, including Phonebooth Plus and 4 Person sizes, were situated throughout the floorplan to accommodate to these needs in a stylised and minimal manner. Selected in our White finish, these pods complemented the surrounding furnishings and balanced the industrial elements of the interior.
Our BeCalm Acoustic Pods provided the ideal balance of quality and value, offering a high-quality solution at a more accessible price point. With optional finishes and Class A soundproofing, they delivered effective results while meeting Softwire’s requirements.
The Results:
This refurbishment, led by AW Spaces, resulted in a warm and inviting space that was functional for the whole office, including those with accessibility and neurodiverse needs. Ensuring different work styles were represented was of high importance in this design process, which was aided by our BeCalm Acoustic Pods and the selected sizes, which opened the possibility to private solo work as well as confidential team meetings. Overall, this project resulted in a strong, modern workplace, enabling colleagues to feel connected and supported by their working environment.
